Kingston SSD DC1000B | NVMe M.2 | 240GB / 480GB / 960GB
Boot drive for enterprise servers
Kingston’s DC1000B Data Center Drive is an M.2 (2280) PCIe NVMe disk utilizing the advanced Gen 3.0 x 4 PCIe interface with 64-layer 3D TLC NAND. DC1000B offers data centers a great value boot drive solution, with the guarantee of buying an SSD designed specifically for servers. The DC1000B is especially suitable for high-volume rack-mount servers as an internal boot drive, as well as for custom systems where M.2 SSDs that integrate Power Loss Protection (PLP) are required.
- PCIe NVMe M.2 (2280) Gen 3.0 x 4 SSD; performance level
NVMe for server boot workloads
Application-optimized capacities (240GB and 960GB) keep costs low
Built-in Loss of Power Protection (PLP)
Self-Encrypting Drive (SED) with 256-bit AES-XTS
Enterprise Data Center NVMe Boot SSD
NVMe M.2 SSDs are evolving within data centers, strengthening the efficiency of boot servers by protecting drive bays from incoming loads in the data storage process. Top-tier and private label server OEMs are beginning to equip their server motherboards with at least one, and sometimes two, M.2 connectors for boot purposes. Although the M.2 format was originally designed as a customer SSD form factor, its small dimensions and high performance make it attractive for use in servers. Not all SSDs are created equal, and using a client SSD in a server application can lead to poor and spotty performance.
Applications
Boot drives are primarily used to boot operating systems, although in many cases they have a second purpose: to load application data, or to be configured as high-speed local cache drives. Consequently, the DC1000B has been designed for a longer service life (0.5 DWPD over 5 years) to handle both the operating system workload and the additional burden of caching and logging data. In addition to being designed for long-term reliability, the DC1000B is designed to deliver enterprise-grade performance with low latency characteristics rare for customer SSDs. Available in 240GB and 960GB capacities.
M.2 (2280) WITH NVME PERFORMANCE
Incredible speeds of up to 2.6GB / s and 200K IOPS.
Drive optimized for server boot
Optimized for startup workloads, as well as application caching and logging.
Built-in Loss of Power Protection (PLP)
Reduces the possibility of data loss and / or damage as a result of a power outage.
Drive bay maximization
Internal boot drive movement frees up load bearing drive bays for additional data storage
